The 45-minute rule: why shorter sessions qualify harder
Long webinars feel generous and perform badly. Here is the structure we use instead.
Most institutions run their info sessions for an hour because that is how long a room is booked for. Online, that is the wrong unit of measurement.
What we changed
We cut the presentation to twenty-five minutes and gave the remaining twenty to live Q&A. Attendance held. Watch time went up. More importantly, the questions asked in the back half became the single best predictor of who applied.
Why it works
A prospective student is not there for a tour. They are there to find out whether this programme solves their specific problem — the fee, the timetable, the credential, the visa. The faster you get to that, the faster they self-select.
